Kidde 9-30521 - MiniLaser Input/Output functional module
Marque: Kidde
Environnement: Intérieur
Type de détecteur: Optique (fumée)
Description
The Input/Output functional module is designed to provide additional relay outputs and/or inputs when interfacing the aspirating smoke detector to other systems. The Input/Output functional module plugs into the MiniLaser expansion sub-module.
Programmable Inputs
The Input/Output functional module extends the MiniLaser’s interface capabilities by providing programmable ASD inputs that support key external control and supervision functions. These inputs can be configured for Remote Day/Night Mode changeover, Remote Reset, and ClassiFire Override, in addition to power-supply fault monitoring, enabling seamless integration with fire alarm control panels, building management systems, and site-specific control logic. ClassiFire Override is a particularly valuable function, allowing the detector’s normal sensitivity to be temporarily reduced by a pre-programmed percentage. This feature is designed to accommodate predictable and controlled environmental conditions that may otherwise lead to unwanted alarms, such as theatre stage effects, controlled smoke release, or open fires in heritage buildings. By dynamically adjusting sensitivity while maintaining full aspirating detection functionality, ClassiFire Override supports operational continuity without compromising overall system integrity.
Programmable Outputs
The Input/Output functional module extends the MiniLaser’s interface capability by providing additional programmable outputs for enhanced external signalling and system integration. The Input/Output functional module adds five additional programmable outputs, complementing the detector’s standard relay outputs and increasing flexibility for connection to fire alarm control panels, building management systems, and other external monitoring or control interfaces. The five outputs may be used to report the 4 alarm levels of the ASD, plus an additional fault output. Being able to report all 4 alarm levels is a requirement in certain applications where various actions or alarms are required based on the development of smoke and/or fire.
Configuration
All input and output functions can be configured using the Remote configuration software via the MiniLaser USB-C interface, allowing full access to advanced settings, diagnostics, and maintenance features. For rapid installation and commissioning, MiniLaser also supports an easy dip-switch configuration mode, enabling operation without a PC. When this installation mode is used, the inputs and outputs operate with preloaded default behaviors, ensuring predictable and standardized functionality straight out of the box while still allowing later refinement through software if required.
